Carmel Valley: All Aboard for Wine!

There’s no doubt that California’s gorgeous Carmel Valley is a sight to behold.
Dotted with wineries and tasting rooms, the region’s rolling hills and picturesque vineyards are a sight to behold – and the perfect location for a chilled-out wine country getaway from it all.
One of the best ways to see this stunning area has to be from a historic ‘wine trolley’. These famous trolleys – lovingly named ‘Mona Lisa’ and ‘Glory’ - take wine-lovers on unforgettable wine-tasting journeys that showcase the valley’s delicious pinot noirs, chardonnays, cabernets and viogniers.
Highlights include pit stops at prestigious wineries like the Windy Oaks Winery, Parsonage Vineyards, Bernardus Winery, Rombi Estate Wines, Twisted Roots and Big Sur Winery.
The tour also includes lunch at Roux in Carmel Valley Village. Blending the finest local ingredients with a dash of traditional French technique, chef Fabrice Roux offers a variety of small plates and entrees paired with wines and house-made refreshers at this stylishly casual eatery.
What could be better than that? Well, how about a night at a cozy hotel with the one you love, along with a complimentary bottle of local wine and a mouth watering breakfast in the morning?
The Laurel Inn and Conference Center in Salinas is offering a superb ‘Sweetheart Special’ that includes a one night stay along with breakfast, a bottle of wine, the historic trolley tour and lunch at Roux for just $200 plus applicable taxes.
The property’s pleasant rooms feature all the convenient amenities you could possibly require during your central California adventure. One of the top hotels near Salinas Muni Airport, it offers free highspeed Wi-Fi, a heated pool, meals at the onsite Black Bear Diner. And it’s dog friendly too, so you can even take your four-legged friend along with you.
